And her dad Sir Lindsay opened up about how his daughter’s death, just before Christmas in 2017, “rocked” his world to the core.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, the 62-year-old said he had last spoken to her when he called her, warning Natalie to drive safely as she made her way home from Lancashire after visiting her elder sister.

He said: “She was full of life, full of energy.

“I told her to watch out as it was starting to snow. I was worried about her driving in the snow and ice. Her mum and I had bought her a new car just ten days earlier. Like any dad, I was worried.”

Tragically, Natalie was found dead the next Friday, December 15.

An inquest heard she had received a number of  “distressing phone calls” after being involved in a coercive relationship plagued by “gas lighting”.

Sir Lindsay said he had tried to intervene in the relationship as it started to deteriorate.

He said: “I’d met him and told Natalie to get rid of him. But she couldn’t do it.”

The coroner recorded an open verdict, saying they would “never quite know” what was going through Natalie’s head before her death.

Essex Police concluded there were no suspicious circumstances.

‘SHE LEFT A BIG HOLE’

But almost two years on, Natalie’s family is still reeling from her loss.

{Speaking} to the Telegraph today, mum Miriam Lewis said: “I thought, ‘I will never let you be forgotten,

“She was a tiny little person, but she’s left a big hole.”

YOU’RE NOT ALONE

EVERY 90 minutes in the UK a life is lost to suicide.

It doesn’t discriminate, touching the lives of people in every corner of society – from the homeless and unemployed to builders and doctors, reality stars and footballers.

It’s the biggest killer of people under the age of 35, more deadly than cancer and car crashes.

And men are three times more likely to take their own life than women.

Yet it’s rarely spoken of, a taboo that threatens to continue its deadly rampage unless we all stop and take notice, now.

That is why The Sun launched the You’re Not Alone campaign.

The aim is that by sharing practical {advice}, raising awareness and breaking down the barriers people face when {talking} about their mental health, we can all do our bit to help save lives.

Let’s all vow to ask for help when we need it, and listen out for others… You’re Not Alone.

If you, or anyone you know, needs help dealing with mental health problems, the following organisations provide {support}:

The Speaker this week held back tears as he spoke about his daughter as he took on his new role in the Commons.

He said: “There’s one difficult part I want to get over. There is one person who is not here.

“My daughter Natalie. I wish she’d have been here. “We all miss her as a family. None more so than her mum, Miriam.

“I’ve got to say, she was everything to all of us.

“She will always be missed, but she will always be in our thoughts.”

Labour’s Sir Lindsay replaces divisive former Speaker John Bercow, who finally quit the powerful post after a decade in the seat.

Sir Lindsay, who in contrast to Mr Bercow is popular with MPs from across the Commons, will now have to resign as a Labour MP to take up the impartial post.

He beat off six other MPs in four rounds of voting in the Commons.
